Description:
Excelsior is a translucent fabric with a gloss, plain weave. Developed from a gentle thread, soft, flowing. It is used for stage clothing, making shawls, scarves, stoles, flowers, nunofelting. It is well stained with aniline dye (acidic).
Excelsior firmly occupies one of the leading positions in the world of light fabrics. It is sometimes called Margilan silk (or Margelan – both variants are used by specialists), after the name of Margilan – the silk capital of Uzbekistan. There are two silk factories in Margilan, which still produce silk by hand.
